"Big, meaty notes of leather and black pepper come off this little corona, which is draped in a reddish-brown wrapper. It's balanced by sweet impressions of nougat and a heavy almond finish."

What we think:

A petit-royal full of virtue. A mix of warm charm and dry humour, this Perla has a fine draw. Full-on frankness makes him short on subtleties, but the conversation is smooth. Woody flavours and bean aromas are projections of power, balanced by a civilised sweetness of nougat and nut. The prince who makes plain a pleasure. Montecristo No. 5 vs No. 4- which is better? Very similar profile of cocoa, hazelnut, leather, espresso coffee, the main difference is the size. If time is of the essence, go for the No 5.
