The Montecristo Shorts Limited Edition Year of the Rabbit is a small-format, machine-made cigar presented in humidor style box covered in a high-gloss lacquer finish, decorated with the Chinese Zodiac motif. Released alongside the Cohiba Shorts Limited Edition Year of the Rabbit, the Shorts contain short-filler tobacco and measure 3 1/4 inches by 26 ring gauge. Not to be confused with Clu2bs or Minis (two other Cuban small-format, machine-made smokes) the Shorts typically come in cardboard packs. While the Cohiba Year of the Rabbit humidor contains 88 Shorts, the Montecristo contains 66.
These collectors pieces have been released in limited numbers, only 8,888 numbered Montecristo humidors are being produced whereas Cohiba has been given a larger run of 15,888 humidors.
Similar humidors were created in 2022 for the Year of the Tiger and 2021 for the Year of the Ox.
