"Reddish-brown with a flat head, this cigar burns evenly with a slightly firm draw. Though it starts wheaty and herbal, it takes on some floral notes and a bit of sweet toffee before a black-tea finish. Some woodiness appears as well."

The Juan López Selección Especial was chosen by Habanos, S.A. to commemorate two unique anniversaries in 2020: the brand's 150th and the 30th anniversary of the La Casa del Habano franchises.

Selección Especial consists of 25 Habanos with unique dimensions and pleasant smoke, made “Totalmente a mano con tripa larga” - Totally Handmade with Long Filler - after painstaking selection of the wrapper, filler and binder leaves from vegas in the most prestigious area of Vuelta Abajo in the region of Pinar del Río, Cuba, and produced by expert Cuban torcedores - cigar rollers. 

Juan López, one of the best-selling brands at the time of the revolution, owes its name to its creator, a Spanish man of the same name, who founded it in the 1870s. It is primarily known in small circles of smokers who are extremely loyal to the brand.
